If you happen to have the pleasure of having a virtual meeting with me, chances are I’ll be in my home office. And behind me you’ll see my bookcase. Have you ever wondered what’s behind the person who you’re meeting with virtually? Are those books even real? What are all those random-looking knick-knacks? What’s the story? Well, I’ll tell you.

It won’t come as a surprise that I have a lot of investment books on the shelves. I like to think of myself as an investments historian given the previous books I’ve written, and the book I’m currently working on. I often get asked for book recommendations. Much of what’s on my bookshelves is what I’d recommend. I’ll tell you which ones. Not only do books tell stories, but there’s often a memory, a special story about how we acquired each book; and for me in many cases, very fortunately when I got to meet the author. The other items in this photo tell my personal story as well. So, while I’ll share a bibliography of many of the investment classics that I’m proud to own, in many ways this is also my life story.
